Scope: This part of ISO 18563 specifies functional characteristics of a multi-channel phased array ultrasound device for the operation of phased array probes and provides methods for their measurement and verification. This part of ISO 18563 can be partially used for phased array ultrasound devices in automated testing facilities, but additional testing may then be required to ensure satisfactory performance. If the phased array device is part of an automated testing facility, the eligibility criteria may be modified by agreement between the parties involved. This part of ISO 18563 specifies the scope of verification and specifies the acceptance criteria for the frequency range 0.5 MHz to 10 MHz. The evaluation of these properties allows a precisely defined description of the ultrasonic testing devices with phased arrays and the comparability of the testing devices.
