Scope

This standard specifies the technical principles, methods and requirements for visual inspection of ice conditions, ice condition map mapping, ice thickness measurement, ice flow test, ice jam and ice dam observation, in-water ice observation and ice condition data compilation. This standard is applicable to ice condition observation at basic stations, special stations, experimental stations and auxiliary stations (sections) of rivers, lakes, reservoirs and channels affected by ice.
