Scope: This standard gives guidance on the minimum requirements for assessing the viability of piping systems as defined in ISO 13623 for continued service beyond their design life. This standard does not have any specific requirements for the pumping station, compressor station, depressurization station and storage tank shown in Figure 1. This standard applies to rigid metal piping and does not apply to the following: a) flexible piping; b) piping of other materials, such as fiberglass piping; c) umbilicals; d) platform superstructures and facilities; e) structures and structural components. This standard serves as an example of changes to the original design and is only used to extend the life of the pipeline. Other changes, such as increasing MAOP, are not included.
