This part of ISO 4892 provides information and general guidance for the selection and implementation of the weathering procedures detailed in subsequent parts. It also describes general performance requirements for equipment used to weather plastics with radiation sources. The information on performance requirements is intended for manufacturers of time-lapse artificial weathering or time-lapse artificial irradiation equipment. NOTE In this part of ISO 4892, the term "light source" refers to radiation sources that emit UV radiation, visible radiation, infrared radiation or a combination of these types of radiation. This part of ISO 4892 also contains information on evaluating the results of time-lapse artificial weathering or time-lapse artificial irradiations. More detailed information on the methods for determining the change in properties of plastics after weathering and for reporting these results is given in ISO 4582.
