Scope

This standard specifies the specifications, external dimensions, terminal positions, etc. of lead-acid batteries for starters. This standard applies to lead-acid batteries (hereinafter referred to as batteries), dry-charged batteries, wet-charged batteries and free batteries with rated voltages of 6V and 12V for starting, ignition and lighting of various automobiles, tractors and other internal combustion engines. Maintain the battery. This standard does not apply to batteries used for other purposes, such as batteries used for starting railway diesel locomotives.
