Scope

This part of GB/T 5008 stipulates the model establishment and polarity marking of lead-acid batteries for starting, battery type and classification, battery terminal position and terminal size, and marking. This part applies to vented (flooded) lead-acid batteries and valve-regulated (with gas recombination function) with a rated voltage of 12V for starting, ignition and lighting of various automobiles, tractors, heavy trucks and other internal combustion engines Lead-acid battery (hereinafter referred to as battery). This section does not apply to batteries used for other purposes, for example: batteries for starting railway internal combustion engines.
