This standard stipulates the test method for determining the minimum oxygen concentration (also known as oxygen index) just needed to maintain the combustion of the sample in the mixed flow of oxygen and nitrogen under the specified test conditions. This standard is suitable for evaluating the combustion performance of homogeneous solid materials, laminated materials, foam materials, film and film materials under specified test conditions, and the results cannot be used to evaluate the fire hazard of materials under actual use conditions. This method is not suitable for evaluating materials that exhibit high shrinkage after heating.
