This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, labeling, transportation and storage of food additive ethyl maltol. This standard applies to the process route of ethyl maltol synthesized with furfural as raw material, and also to the process route of ethyl maltol synthesized with furfural alcohol as raw material. It is mainly used as food flavoring agent, synergist and corrective agent for fragrance and sweetness of food, beverage, brewing and other products.
