Scope

This standard specifies the test method for determining the average diameter of wool fibers with an air flow meter. This standard applies to the determination of the average diameter of homogeneous sheep wool fibers that have been washed, opened, blended and decontaminated by a constant-pressure airflow meter, including raw wool, scoured wool, carbonized wool and combed wool. Note: This standard does not apply to foreign sheep wool fibers. There may be bias in the results of the determination of myelinated wool and lamb's wool fibers.
