Scope

This standard specifies the method for the determination of moisture in industrial stearic acid. This standard applies to the determination of moisture in industrial stearic acid produced by pressing or distillation after hydrolysis of animal and vegetable fats and oils. Not applicable to fatty acids below dodecanoic acid.
