This standard specifies the voltage level, type size and main electromechanical characteristics of pin-type porcelain insulators for high-voltage lines. This standard applies to pin-type porcelain insulators (hereinafter referred to as insulators) used for insulating and supporting wires in high-voltage overhead power lines in three-phase power systems with a nominal voltage of 10kV, a frequency not exceeding 100Hz, and altitudes not exceeding 1000m in common areas and polluted areas. The ambient temperature at the place where the insulator is installed is between -40 and +40°C. Note: For reinforced insulation type 1 and reinforced insulation type 2 insulators, since the external insulation level has been greatly improved, they can be used in high altitude areas. This standard is not applicable to insulators used in the environment with severe corrosion to insulator enamel and zinc layer.
