EN ISO 11680-1:2011 Machinery for forestry - Safety requirements and testing for polemounted powered pruners - Part 1: Machines fitted with an integral combustion engine
This part of ISO 11680 specifies safety requirements and measures to determine their compliance for the design and construction of portable, hand-held pole pruners with an integrated internal combustion engine as a drive, which are equipped with a drive shaft for transmitting power to the cutting set, which consists of a saw chain, a reciprocating saw blade or a circular saw blade with a maximum outside diameter of 205 mm. Methods for avoiding or reducing the hazards arising from the use of these machines as well as information on safe working to be provided by the manufacturer are specified. This part of ISO 11680 addresses all significant hazards, hazardous situations or hazardous events for these machines, with the exception of electrical shocks from overhead power lines (other than warnings and notices in the operating instructions), when used for their intended purpose and subject to misuse reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer become. NOTE See Appendix A for list of significant hazards. This part of ISO 11680 applies to portable, hand-held, powered pole pruners manufactured after the publication date of this standard.
