This standard specifies the classification and code of high-quality carbon structural steel bars, order content, size, shape and weight, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, signs and quality certificates. This standard applies to hot-rolled and forged high-quality carbon structural steel bars with a nominal diameter or thickness not greater than 250 mm. After negotiation between the supplier and the buyer, hot-rolled and forged high-quality carbon structural steel bars (hereinafter referred to as steel bars) can also be supplied with a nominal diameter or thickness greater than 250 mm. The grades and chemical compositions specified in this standard are also applicable to steel ingots, billets, steel products of other cross-sections and their products.
