- This standard specifies the basic dimensions and tolerances affecting the interchangeability of flywheels with spring-loaded single- or twin-disc clutches. This flywheel system is used for reciprocating internal combustion engines and flywheel housings and clutches involved in ISO 7648 and ISO 7649. Dimensions and tolerances not specified in this standard are left to the discretion of the component manufacturer. This standard applies to reciprocating internal combustion engines, but does not include aviation and passenger car engines. This standard also applies to engines for other purposes where there are no specific international standards.
