This standard specifies the use of metallographic methods to examine the structure, porosity, graphite and other element distribution of the matrix of commonly used brands of sintered metal friction materials listed in JB/T 3063 (see Appendix A). This standard applies to the metallographic examination, analysis and identification of sintered metal friction materials described in the regulations. The metallographic pictures in Appendix B can be used as a reference for the metallographic evaluation of the 10 types of materials mentioned in the regulations. Other sintered metal friction materials can also be implemented as a reference.
