This standard specifies the instruments, reagents, analysis procedures and calculation of results for the determination of α-amylase activity of grains and grain products by colorimetry. This standard applies to the determination of α-amylase activity of grains and cereal products, and can also be used to determine the activity of α-amylase dry powder derived from fungi or bacteria.
