This standard specifies the method for the determination of the bending properties of sandwich structures. This standard is applicable to the determination of the stress of the panels and the shear stress of the core when the sandwich structure is subjected to bending. This standard applies to the determination of the bending stiffness and shear stiffness of sandwich structures. This standard is applicable to the determination of the modulus of elasticity of the panels of sandwich structures and the shear modulus of elasticity of the core. This standard is also applicable to the determination of the bonding strength between the panel and the core. NOTE: Sandwich structures consist of face sheets (skins) with a lightweight core material, usually in the form of honeycomb, corrugated and foam. The materials of the panel and the core material are metal or non-metal.
