Scope

This part of EJ/T 1175 specifies the design requirements for several commonly used penetration components in shielded sealed chambers. The penetration parts specified in this part include the following five categories: 　——Ventilation penetration parts, including conventional air ducts with compensation shielding and cast iron spiral ducts for air intake and exhaust; 　——Electrical penetration parts, used to connect power cables, signals or Control cables pass through the shielding layer to enter and exit the sealed box; 　——Fluid penetration parts, used to pass process, analysis and detection or waste liquid fluids, power system fluids and control fluids through the shielding layer into and out of the sealed box chamber; 　——Rotary movement penetration parts, Used to introduce rotational motion from outside the shielding layer into the sealed box; 　——Lighting penetration parts, used to introduce the electric light source from outside the shielding layer into the sealed box. This section is applicable to all types of shielded sealed chambers, where the products or materials processed have gamma or neutron penetrating radiation, and the processing volume and radiation intensity require that relevant operations must be performed at a distance behind the shielding layer. This type of shielded sealed box room includes shielded glove box, shielded work box, gamma hot chamber, α-γ hot chamber, etc. This section does not apply to pressure vessels, sealed sources, radioactive material transport containers, and primary circuits and containers of nuclear power plants.
