Scope: This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and marking, ordering content, materials, technical requirements, inspection, testing, acceptance methods, packaging, marking and quality certificates of compacted wire ropes. This standard applies to compacted wire ropes (hereinafter referred to as wire ropes) used in equipment such as mine hoisting, oil drilling, forestry, ships, offshore facilities, aerial ropeways, engineering machinery, and hoisting and transportation. The products of this standard include round strand compacted wire ropes, compacted strand compacted wire ropes (double compacted) and anti-rotation wire ropes with inner rope compaction.
