This standard specifies the classification, size, shape and allowable deviations, technical requirements, inspection and test methods, packaging, marking and quality certificates of round steel wires used for rope making. This standard applies to smooth and coated round steel wires used in the manufacture of steel wire ropes (except elevator wire ropes).
