This standard specifies the detection method of ultrasonic diffraction time-lag technology for welded joints of metal equipment in thermal power plants, the grade assessment of detection results, and the detection method for defect monitoring. This standard is applicable to ultrasonic diffraction time difference detection and defect detection of steel pressure-bearing parts and steel plate butt welded joints with a nominal thickness of not less than 6 mm and an outer diameter of not less than 32 mm during the manufacturing, installation and maintenance of thermal power plants. The ultrasonic diffraction time difference detection of butt welded joints of aluminum pipes and aluminum plates with a nominal thickness of not less than 6mm and an outer diameter of not less than 32mm can be performed with reference to this standard. The inspection of inner wall defects of pipes or forgings with a nominal outer diameter of not less than 108mm, inspection of Y-shaped and T-shaped steel tee corner joints and steel plate corner joints can be carried out with reference to this standard. This standard does not apply to welded joints of cast steel, austenitic stainless steel and other materials, nor does it apply to welded joints of dissimilar steels with austenitic stainless steel on one side.
