- This standard applies to DC fixed capacitors with polystyrene film as dielectric and thin metal foil as electrodes for electronic equipment. This standard does not cover capacitors with a reactive power exceeding 200 var. Capacitors for radio interference suppression are not included in this standard, but are included in IEC384-14 "Fixed Capacitors for Electronic Equipment, Part 14: Sectional Specification: Fixed Capacitors for Radio Interference Suppression, Selection of Test Methods and General Requirements".
