EN ISO 3691-6:2013 Industrial trucks - Safety requirements and verification - Part 6: Burden and personnel carriers [Superseded: CEN EN 1726-1, CEN EN 1726-1]
This part of ISO 3691 contains safety requirements and provides the means for their verification for self-propelled transport vehicles for the transport of loads without lifting, as defined in ISO 5053, and/or passenger transport vehicles with three or more wheels, a maximum speed of not more than 56 km/ h and a maximum load capacity of 5000 kg (hereinafter referred to as transport vehicles or industrial trucks). This part of ISO 3691 is applicable to industrial trucks equipped with a platform (which can be tilted) for transporting material or with a number of seats for transporting people. This standard does not apply to: vehicles intended primarily for earthworks or road transport; driverless vehicles; golf carts; Tractors with a pulling force on the towing hook up to and including 20000 N, equipped with a platform for the transport of materials. This part of ISO 3691 addresses all significant hazards, hazardous situations or hazardous events, as listed in Annex A, that are relevant to the machinery concerned when used as intended and subject to misuse reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer. This part does not establish requirements for hazards that may occur when industrial trucks are used on public roads or when operating in potentially explosive atmospheres. In addition to the requirements listed in this part of ISO 3691, regional requirements are addressed in ISO/TS 3691-7 and ISO/TS 3691-8.
