- This part of JB/T 9179 specifies the allowances and tolerances for steel free forgings of short cylindrical types (including short symmetrical polygonal columns) that are free forged on a hydraulic press and whose axial end faces need to be flattened. This section applies to short cylindrical (including short symmetrical polygonal columns) steel free forgings whose height (length) is greater than or equal to the diameter of the part and less than or equal to 1.5 times the diameter of the part.
