- This part of JB/T 9179 specifies the machining allowances and tolerances for free forging steel free forgings such as round shafts, square shafts and rectangular cross-sections on hydraulic presses. This section applies to steel free forgings such as round shafts, square shafts and rectangular cross-sections with a length greater than or equal to the diameter, a square cross-section side length and a rectangular cross-section long side. The machining allowances and tolerances for steel free forgings of symmetrical polygonal shafts can be implemented in accordance with the provisions of this section.
