- This standard specifies the terms and definitions, grades, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, casting markings, packaging, storage and transportation requirements for gray iron castings for pumps (hereinafter referred to as castings). This standard is applicable to gray iron castings for pumps cast in sand molds or casting molds with thermal conductivity equivalent to sand molds. There are no special requirements or regulations for repair welding in drawings or other technical documents. Gray iron castings for pumps cast in other casting molds.
