Scope

This standard specifies the test device, test procedure and result calculation of the oxygen index method, one of the test methods for the combustion performance of glass fiber reinforced plastics. This standard is applicable to the determination of the minimum oxygen concentration necessary for the continuous combustion of the sample of glass fiber reinforced plastics under the conditions specified in this standard, which is expressed as the volume percentage of oxygen. This standard is only applicable to assess the combustion performance of materials under the conditions specified in this standard, but cannot assess the fire hazard under actual use conditions.
