Scope: This standard specifies the terms and definitions, application types and codes, optical interface technical requirements, test methods, reliability tests, and inspections of 40Gb/s (usually 39.813 Gb/s~43.013Gb/s) intensity modulated optical transceiver modules. Rules and requirements for marking, packaging, transportation and storage. This standard only applies to NRZ 40Gb/s intensity modulated optical transceiver modules, referred to as "40Gb/s optical transceiver modules". Other 40Gb/s intensity modulated optical modules need to be studied.
