- This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, inspection rules and marking, packaging, transportation and storage of softness testers. This standard is applicable to softness testers (hereinafter referred to as "softness testers") for softness testing of tis ue paper, toilet paper and other household paper and tobacco sheets and other materials. The periodic calibration of the softness meter should also be used with reference.
