- Scope
- This standard specifies the terms and definitions, general requirements, finished product requirements, and test procedures for elastomer cups and double-lip seals (hereinafter collectively referred to as seals) for automotive hydraulic brake cylinders used for non-petroleum-based hydraulic brake fluids , inspection rules, signs, packaging, transportation and storage. This standard applies to rubber molded seals with a diameter not greater than 60 mm for drum brake cylinders. This standard does not apply to elastomeric seals for disc brakes.
