Scope
This standard specifies the functional requirements and principles required for the design, operation and reassessment of pipelines using the reliability-based limit state method allowed by GB/T 24259-2009 in the oil and gas industry. The reliability-based limit state method provides a systematic approach for predicting the safety of pipelines in design and operation. This standard applies to onshore and offshore rigid metal pipelines in the oil and gas industry. This standard is a supplement to GB/T 24259-2009. It is adopted when GB/T 24259-2009 does not provide clear regulations and limit state methods can be applied, such as the following situations (but not limited to these): -- For new concepts - assessment of piping, such as the use of new technologies or designs with insufficient industry experience; - reassessment of pipelines due to changes in the design basis, such as extended service life, which may include improvements in integrity monitoring and increased operating experience Uncertainty reduction; -- Instability under external pressure in deep water; -- Extreme loads, such as seismic loads (such as fault passages), ice loads (such as impacts from large ice slabs); -- based on strain where the guidelines apply.
