This standard specifies the safety criteria for new passenger elevators and freight elevators that are permanently installed in existing buildings and cannot meet certain requirements of GB 7588-2003 and GB 21240-2007 due to building restrictions. This standard enumerates these limitations and gives requirements for solutions. This standard is understood and applied in conjunction with GB 7588-2003 or GB 21240-2007 (including their introduction). This standard applies to: - the manufacture and safety of new elevators installed in existing buildings (including new shafts and machine spaces in existing buildings); - replacement of existing elevators in existing shafts and machine spaces by new elevators elevator. This standard does not apply to: - Renewal or modification of elevator components in use; - Applications outside the scope of GB 7588-2003 or GB 21240-2007.
