Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, codes, requirements, tests, trimming, etc. of the surface quality of hot-rolled bars and wire rods. This standard applies to the surface quality grades of hot-rolled bars and wire rods with a nominal size of 5 mm to 150 mm. After negotiation between the supplier and the buyer, it can also be used for hot-rolled bars and wire rods with a nominal size greater than 150mm. This standard is applicable to engineering steel, and can also be used for structural steel or tool steel after negotiation between the supplier and the purchaser. This standard does not include requirements for the depth of surface decarburization.
