IEC 61347-2-12:2005 Lamp controlgear - Part 2-12: Particular requirements for d.c. or a.c. supplied electronic ballasts for discharge lamps (excluding fluorescent lamps)
This section specifies the general requirements and safety requirements for DC or AC electronic ballasts. The power supply includes AC power supply of 50Hz/60Hz and 1000 V or above. This type of ballast is a converter equipped with triggering and stabilizing components, which can operate the discharge lamp at DC or at a frequency different from the mains frequency. Lamps that match the ballast are specified in IEC 60188 "High Pressure Mercury Lamp", IEC 60192 "Low Pressure Sodium Lamp", IEC 60662 (High Pressure Sodium Lamp), IEC 611G7 "Metal Halide Lamp" and other general lighting source standards. This section does not include ballasts for fluorescent lamps and ballasts for special lamps used in theaters and motor vehicles.
