The guideline, subdivided in the sections Rails for crane systems, Rail connections, Rail beddings, Rail fastenings and Production tolerances, explains the specifics which planners of rails for crane systems and users of crane systems must consider to create such conditions for the cranes travelling on the rails as are relevant to a satisfactory running and wear behaviour of the crane travelling gears with respect to crane rails and rail wheels. In particular, information on the production tolerances must be observed when constructing new crane systems. Recommendations concerning operational tolerances are important to users of crane systems.
