Scope

This specification is formulated in order to make the water supply and drainage engineering design of iron and steel enterprises comply with national guidelines, policies, and regulations, unify engineering construction standards, improve engineering design quality, achieve advanced technology, safety and reliability, economical rationality, energy saving and emission reduction, and convenient management. This code is applicable to the design of water supply and drainage works for new construction, reconstruction and expansion projects of iron and steel enterprises (including special steel plants). The design of water supply and drainage projects in iron and steel enterprises should be based on the overall planning of iron and steel enterprises approved by relevant government departments, such as water source selection, location of water purification plants, water transmission and distribution pipelines, factory discharge outlets, reuse rate, water intake per ton of steel, etc. It should meet the requirements of the overall plan. When the industrial wastewater and domestic sewage drainage pipes of iron and steel enterprises are connected to the drainage system or water body of the public sewage treatment system, the drainage water quality must meet the relevant national and local discharge standards. The design of water supply and drainage works of iron and steel enterprises shall not only comply with this code, but also comply with the relevant current national standards.
