- This standard specifies the terms and definitions, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation and storage of marine medium-speed diesel engine gearboxes (hereinafter referred to as "gearboxes"). This standard is applicable to marine gearboxes with a transmission capacity of not less than 0.6 kW/(r.min) matched with medium-speed diesel engines. Other marine gearboxes with a transmission capacity lower than 0.6kW/(r.min) may refer to this standard. See Appendix A for the technical parameters of typical products.
