This standard specifies the terms of measurement, instrumentation and control components, detection and monitoring functions and systems, control functions and systems, protection functions and systems, computer control systems, plant-level information systems, and reliability in thermal power station monitoring systems. This standard applies to conventional thermal power plants and conventional islands of nuclear power plants. The terminology used in the documents, drawings and technical literature of the thermal power station monitoring system shall comply with the provisions of this standard. Terms related to thermal power station monitoring systems not included in this standard shall comply with the provisions of the relevant national terminology standards.
