Scope

This standard specifies the requirements for computer software for instrumentation and control systems important to safety in nuclear power plants that perform Class A functions. This standard is applicable to achieving high reliability software and involves every stage in the software generation and documentation process, including requirements specification, design, implementation, verification, validation and operation.
