Scope
This standard specifies the conceptual data model, logical data model and data exchange format of geographic databases on which navigation geographic information depends. It describes what such a database might have (features, attributes, and relationships), and how to express that and how to define relevant information about the database itself (metadata). This standard focuses on describing roads and road-related information. However, it also includes other relevant information required by intelligent transportation system (ITS) applications, such as: Example 1: ITS applications need to use address system information to describe locations and/or destinations, so this standard uses information such as administrative divisions and postal divisions as One of the important contents; Example 2: Map display is an important part of ITS applications.
