Scope: This standard specifies the terms and definitions, types and basic parameters, requirements, safety performance, inspection conditions, inspection methods, signs and packaging of gear pitch measuring instruments. This standard is applicable to gear pitch measuring instruments with measurable gear modulus ranging from 1mm to 20mm and the diameter of the top circle not greater than 600mm (hereinafter referred to as "tooth pitch measuring instrument").
