Scope
This standard specifies the following test methods: the frequency band insertion loss of the duct muffler under the state of air flow and no air flow; the frequency band sound power level of the regenerative air flow noise of the muffler; the total pressure loss of the duct muffler when there is air flow passing through; Frequency band sound transmission loss. This standard specifies the laboratory measurement method at ambient temperature. The on-site measurement method of the muffler is described in detail in GB/T 19512. It should be noted that the laboratory test results obtained according to this standard are not necessarily consistent with the test results obtained on site (installation). Different sound fields and flow fields will lead to different results. For example, the pressure loss measured in the laboratory will be lower than that in the field. However, test results from different laboratories can be compared. This standard applies to all types of mufflers including ventilation and air conditioning systems, gas intake and exhaust systems, and other similar systems. Other passive ventilation devices, such as elbows, duct ends, and T-connectors, can also be tested according to this standard. This standard does not apply to resistant mufflers for motor vehicles.
