This standard is not directly applicable to the hazards of electrostatic shock, but applying this standard can reduce the hazards to operators. This standard does not apply to the prevention and control of static electricity in hospital operating rooms and places where flammable anesthetics are administered. This standard does not apply to lightning, stray currents and induced currents generated by radio frequency energy, the fuel tank refueling process of motor vehicles, ships and aircraft, and clean rooms. Some electronic components have their own requirements for static electricity. This standard does not apply to the control and hazards of static electricity involving such electronic components.
