Scope: CAUTION: Personnel using this section should have practical experience in formal laboratory work. This section does not address all possible security issues. It is the user's responsibility to take appropriate safety and health measures and ensure compliance with the conditions stipulated in the relevant national laws and regulations. This part of GB/T 18340 specifies the technical performance indicators, sample preparation, method and precision of mass spectrometer in the analysis of stable carbon isotope composition of organic matter, etc. This part is applicable to the stable carbon isotope composition analysis of crude oil and its various components, kerogen, coal, rock bitumen and other sedimentary organic matter; it is not applicable to the stable carbon isotope composition analysis of organic matter samples containing carbonate minerals. Analysis requires removal of carbonate minerals.
