This part of GB 6067 specifies the basic safety requirements for the design, manufacture, installation, modification, maintenance, use, scrapping and inspection of hoisting machinery. This section applies to bridge and gantry cranes, mobile cranes, tower cranes, jib cranes, cable cranes and general requirements for light and small lifting equipment. The special requirements for specific types of lifting appliances are given in other parts of GB 6067. This section does not apply to lifting equipment such as floating cranes, deck cranes and manned. If it does not involve special issues of basic safety, this section can also be used as a reference for other lifting appliances.
