This standard applies to electrical and electronic equipment and systems for lifting appliances and related equipment. Note 1 In this standard, the word "electrical" includes both electrical and electronic aspects (ie, electrical equipment refers to both electrical equipment and electronic equipment). 2 In this standard, the word "personnel" refers to any individual and those who are assigned by the user or his agent to use and manage the lifting machinery. The equipment covered by this standard starts from the power access point of the electrical equipment of the hoisting machinery (crane power switch), including the power supply and control feeder system outside the hoisting machinery, such as flexible cables or collector conductors or trolley wires ( See Figure 3). Note 3: See IEC 60364 for building power installation requirements. The electrical equipment and its components to which this standard applies have a line-to-line voltage not exceeding 1 000 V(aC) or 1 500 V(dC), and a rated frequency not exceeding 200 Hz. Note 4: The requirements for high-voltage equipment are considered by IEC/TC 44 and IEC/TC 99. Additional special requirements may be specified for electrical equipment of lifting machinery used in explosive and/or flammable atmospheres. For the purpose of this standard, lifting machinery includes various types of cranes, various types of winches, and rail roadway stacking cranes. Including the following types of products: - bridge cranes; - mobile cranes; - tower cranes; - slewing luffing cranes; - gantry cranes; - various winches; - hoists and accessories; - loading cranes; - cable cranes; - load holding devices; - rail roadway stacking cranes; Rubber-tyred gantry cranes (RTGs). Apart from the selection and installation of individual components of electrical equipment, this standard does not cover individual components of electrical equipment.
