Scope: This standard specifies the performance requirements for double-capped fluorescent lamps for general lighting. This standard covers lamps of the following types of operation: a) preheated cathode lamps operating on AC mains frequency lines with starters and capable of operating on high frequency lines; b) operating on AC mains frequencies without starters (no starters) High-resistance preheated cathode lamps that can work on high-frequency circuits; c) Low-resistance preheated cathode lamps that can work on AC power lines without a starter (no starter) and can work on high-frequency circuits; d) Preheated cathode lamps working on high-frequency lines; e) Non-preheated cathode lamps operating on AC power frequency lines; f) Non-preheated cathode lamps operating on high-frequency lines. For some of the requirements given in this standard, see the data sheet for the relevant lamp. This standard contains parameter tables for some lamp types. For other lamp types within the scope of this standard but for which no parameter table is provided, the relevant lamp parameters shall be given by the lamp manufacturer or seller.
