- This standard specifies the requirements and test methods for dental lamps used in dental clinics for illuminating the patient's mouth. It also includes requirements for instructions for use, labeling and packaging for reference by manufacturers. This standard also applies to dental lights intended to be permanently fixed to the ceiling, wall or floor. This standard does not include requirements for auxiliary light sources, such as light from dental handpieces and dental headlights. This standard does not include requirements for floodlights intended for use in dental procedures.
