Scope

This part of GB/T 24818 determines the general requirements for access to the console and other areas of the crane defined in GB/T 6974.1 during normal operation, maintenance, inspection, installation, disassembly and unexpected situations, and General requirements for safeguards to protect persons on or near cranes from injury from moving parts, falling objects, rotating parts. GB/T 24818.3, GB/T 24818.5, and ISO 11660-2 stipulate the special requirements for access and safety protection facilities for different types of cranes and lifting equipment. Where special and general requirements do not match, dimensions different from the general requirements may be used to achieve the same degree of protection.
