- This part of GB/T 24811 specifies two selection methods for steel wire ropes used in hoisting machinery defined in GB/T 6974.1, one is based on the selection coefficient C of the steel wire rope, and the other is based on the utilization (safety) factor Zp. This part specifies the minimum requirements for the permissible strength and performance class of wire ropes according to the design, application and maintenance requirements of cranes. Specifies the minimum requirements for drum and sheave diameters in relation to the selected wire rope.
